Travel Style 101: Airport Couture

Bonjour mes amies!

It’s that time of year again, the one that all students worldwide look forward to: Summer Vacation! Most of you will be traveling abroad or within the nation and will probably be flying out. Whether it’s an early morning flight or a quick afternoon joiner, we all want to be comfortable while trekking through the airport. NEWS FLASH: Being comfortable at the airport doesn’t mean sacrificing style! You can look great while feeling great and I’m about to give you a little guide to do just that.

Outfit #1

Travel Style_Casual Chic

This outfit is perfect for someone looking for an outfit that balances style and comfort while being a bit more dressed up. It’s simple and easy to manage while making your way through the airport. I found that this ensemble would look fabulous with either the Tory Burch Miller Sandal or Sperry Topsider’s new Angelfish Cane Woven Boat Shoe, but regardless, flats are a MUST when traveling. To pull the look together, I chose simple gold accessories and added a nice, larger carry-on tote bag like the Michael Kors Saffiano Tote featured above. It’s roomy enough to keep all your flight essentials like books/magazines, a journal, and even an average sized laptop. The best part? With an outfit like this, you can exit the plane and head straight to a nice lunch in your new destination because you already look fabulous! (Those sweats aren’t looking so great now, are they?)

Now, this is definitely a more laid back option for traveling. If the first outfit was not for you because you’re a yoga pants or sweat pants and tee shirt kinda gal, then I’ve put together a perfect look for you. Loose trousers and harem pants are just one of the latest pant trends that has heated up this summer, and this pair from H&M is so comfortable, soft, and breathable in its jersey material. It has all the comfort of yoga pants minus the evident wedgies and a 1,000% higher style factor. (I mean that print is fabu, non?) Again, I chose simple gold accessories with a touch of blush, which brings me to my favorite part of the outfit- the shoes. The ModCloth Festival Call it a Day Trip Sandals are comfy, breathable, and made in a soft, vegan faux-leather material that’s perfect for walking. I’ve been seeing this strappy, elongated fisherman t-strap sandal style show up more and more in street style recently, and I definitely think it will be a trend very soon.

What did I tell you? You can travel comfortably while looking put together. These outfits are simple and easy for anyone to pull off on the travel scene! Comment below which of these looks you like the best or that you’d most likely wear.
