Summertime Blues

Happy Saturday, everyone!

As promised, I have a new post today for you guys, and it’s the classic Outfit of the Day post. I just finished my first week of my junior year and, honestly, I loved it! The work load has increased, of course, but it was so great to catch up with my friends, meet all my new teachers, and jump right into all the fun the year has in store.

That work load I mentioned has me confined to my room doing homework in my oh, so fashionable Nike shorts and t-shirt, missing the days of summertime freedom. Although I’m loving the year so far, I am feeling a little blue about summer break being over. That said, here is a blue Outfit of the Day throwback to my last day of summer!

Bracelet: Charming Charlie

I love this bangle bracelet from Charming Charlie. The blue gems accented with gold wiring work beautifully together, and I love that I can wear this bracelet higher on my arm than the typical bracelet or bangle. It adds a simple, subtle, yet unique twist.

I love this maxi skirt because it’s definitely different from your basic skirt. First, the blue lace overlay is gorgeous with pink and red flowers thrown into the mix. The floral lace with a unique color theme is feminine and fun. Secondly, the fact that the lace overlay is of a maxi cut while the skirt underneath is short so unique! It makes the skirt more casual and makes your legs appear longer as opposed to a solid colored, single-material maxi skirt.

From the front, this top is a basic cream tee with a little frocket. Then, you take a look at the back and it’s totally made of lace! As you can tell, I really like lace, and I love the variety in this outfit. Do note that it’s possible to have one print and vary its design in different pieces like I did here: I wore a lace skirt and lace backed top, but the laces are in slightly different patterns and colors. Both items still look put-together and simple! Depending on how you style patterns, you can wear any without it looking too busy. (:

I hope you are all enjoying your school year so far, and if you are on a holiday break, then I hope you are treasuring every moment! I may have the summer blues now, but I am honestly so excited for what’s to come this school year. (PS- Check out my last post to see how I prepared for the start of school!) Remember to keep those positive vibes and be the best you possible. (:
